Mitzvah Always/Community Service
Through our community relations department, Federation has conducted several community service or “Mitzvah Day” events over the last dozen years. Thousands of volunteers have participated in hundreds of projects throughout the metro Phoenix community, providing community service to both Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. Although these annual events certainly assisted many worthy institutions, we’ve come to realize that Mitzvah Day should be everyday.

With our newly re-formatted “Mitzvah Always/Community Service” we inform, encourage, and connect individuals to community services projects with agencies and organizations throughout the Valley all year long. Our web site, as well as a monthly electronic news brief will provide up-to-date information about community service needs and events.

The Jewish Federation is deeply committed to encouraging volunteerism and to recognizing the many young people who are making a difference in our community.  Bar and Bat Mitzvah students and other youth are creating and taking part in wonderful programs.  We are devoting a section on our webpage to recognize their contributions.  If you are involved in a youth mitzvah project, or know someone 18-years old or younger who is, please send the student’s name, age, and a brief description of the project to crc@jewishphoenix.org
