The Arizona Jewish Historical Society and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Present, A Celebration of Spirit: Strengthening Our Common Bonds Through Music and Faith, Sunday, June 30, 2019
People of all faiths are invited to join the Arizona Jewish Historical Society and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for an exciting interfaith concert this June. This uplifting event will feature music from Jewish and African-American spiritual traditions in an attempt to promote dialogue and understanding between our two communities, as well as people of all races and religions.
The event will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1401 E. Jefferson on Sunday, June 30th at 4pm.
Admission is free. Doors will open at 3:30pm. No RSVP is required
The concert will feature the Pilgrim Rest choir directed by Roney Jones as well as a Jewish musical ensemble led by cantorial soloists Todd Herzog and Emily Kaye. Performances will include explanations of the music and its importance within the Jewish and African-American communities. The two groups will also perform several interfaith songs together.
