A Divorce Coach’s Guide to Staying Married
February 18, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
ABOUT THIS LECTURE:
ABOUT THIS SPEAKER: Jennifer Hurvitz is known for her no-nonsense approach to dating after divorce. She’s a relationship coach, best-selling author, and host of the Doing Divorce Right podcast. Happily divorced since 2014, Jennifer lives in Charlotte with her two teenage boys. Through her popular blog, The Truth Hurvitz, and weekly podcast, Hurvitz helps people understand what a happy divorce can look like and how to dip their toes back into the dating world. She loves sharing her insight on how to stay in a successful marriage too.
With a degree in Family and Child Ecology, a minor in Human Sexuality from Michigan State University, and her many years in the medical field, as a medical assistant she is both empathetic and understanding. Jen also has two fantastic (and well-adjusted) teen-aged boys who will tell you she’s got this “divorce thing” down pat! Jennifer knows how to “do divorce right” and co-parenting is her specialty. She has been quoted as an expert in the field.
Her ability to effectively engage clients with her warmth and down-to-earth approach creates a supportive environment that provides strategies that are solution-focused. Jennifer’s main goal is to act as a “thinking partner”, not a therapist. Divorce is stressful; anxiety ridden at best! It’s a long tedious process, and the coach needs to go along for the ride! Not as the attorney, but as the guide. “It’s truly about making my clients feel safe, and creating a supportive, non-judgmental space. Isn’t a divorce stressful enough? Why make it more difficult? It’s my goal as a relationship coach is to make our sessions… easy, with a positive outlook.”
