Maximizing Impact

The Federation maximizes the impact of the dollars raised through its annual campaign to fund organizations and programs that make a difference in Jewish lives every day. We work collaboratively with our funded partners to provide needed services, strengthen Jewish life and identity and build community.

Our Funding Model

Funds are allocated through a thoughtful process that emphasizes due diligence, greatest impact and measurable results. The Community Planning Commission (CPC) and Funding Councils are integral in the process. The CPC and Councils are comprised of community volunteers with varied backgrounds, expertise and interests.

The Federation has several classifications of funded partners: Strategic, Core Impact, School and Overseas Partners. Each relies on the Federation for support to carry out the work necessary to help those in need and to strengthen and sustain vibrant Jewish communities.

Strategic Partners

The Federation funds these organizations each year based upon the significant number of programs and services they provide that are critical to the wellbeing of our community. Strategic Partners are granted the flexibility to use funding as necessary to respond to crises, expand programs, evaluate services and leverage other funding to have a greater impact on our community. Strategic Partners are evaluated in-depth every three years to ensure they are meeting the Federation’s Strategic Partner criteria and serving the community at the highest level.

Core Impact Partners

Core Impact Partners receive funding for specific programs within our core impact areas, engaging the next generation, enriching seniors and supporting Jewish communities worldwide. Any Jewish community 501c3 organization, with a governing board of directors, a board-approved budget and a program that meets funding criteria can apply.

School Partners

Our School Partners are the Valley’s full-time K-12 Jewish day schools and are recognized by the Jewish Tuition Organization. Each School Partner receives funding based on the total dollars allocated for School Partner Funding divided among the partners based on the number of students enrolled as of October 15 of the school year.

Overseas Partners

The Israel & Overseas Funding Council funds the projects and services that our Overseas Partners offer to Jews in Israel and in more than 70 countries throughout the world. The Council evaluates partner programs and the impact of Federation dollars on our partners’ ability to meet on-going and developing needs in a meaningful way.

Impact Stories

The true goal of the Federation is to significantly impact the lives of Jews in our community and around the world. Each story is as unique as the individual. These stories are made possible through the generosity of our donors and partners.
