Josh & Amanda: Engaging Young Jewish Adults in the Community

Josh and Amanda
Thanks to Federation’s NowGen program, Phoenix newcomers Josh and Amanda were connected to their new community and found a home to start their family

Two years ago, Josh and Amanda Goldberg moved to the Valley from Ohio. Through Federation NowGen programs, they met other young Jewish adults and were connected to their new community. They quickly became involved in a variety of activities, including serving on the NowGen board, inspiring Shabbat Hop and attending Federation-funded BJE Baby University – in April, they welcomed their new daughter, Phoebe. With the community they built through Federation, this young family is thriving in their new home.

We arrived in Phoenix without family, friends or a community. Through NowGen, we meet new people, build community and give back, laying the foundation for current and future generations of our new family. – Josh Goldberg

Each year, through our NowGen initiative, Federation touches thousands of young Jewish lives. We encourage young adults to connect with their Jewish identity and to the community. We do this because we know that engaged adults raise engaged children and give Jewishly of their time, talent and treasure. Our ongoing dedication to this core impact area will help ensure the vibrancy of the Greater Phoenix Jewish community for generations to come.
