Marty’s Shabbat Message, September 19, 2019

By September 19, 2019 Marty's Shabbat Message

Shalom Chaverim (Dear Friends),

We are moving closer to the Days of Awe and 5780.  Speaking of awe, I was awed by last week’s Women’s Professional Panel presented by our Business & Professionals Groups and sponsored by Fennemore Craig. BP member Courtney Beller, vice chair of Fennemore Craig Business Litigation, came to us with an idea to strengthen our community—a networking and resource sharing opportunity for women by women. The panelists were engaging, inspiring and unforgettable. They included Janice Dinner, senior associate general counsel of Banner Health; Hilla Sferruzza, executive VP & CFO of Meritage Homes and Lucia Schnitzer, owner and founder of Luci’s Urban Concepts. Courtney graciously moderated the panel and did a great job.

This event is just the beginning. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities.

Also awe-some, the Red Rocks Music Festival concerts this weekend in Phoenix and Sedona featuring pianist Inna Faliks performing works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart. I invite you to learn more and get tickets at redrocksmusicfestival.com.

This week’s Torah Portion is Ki Tavo (Enter the Land) in Deuteronomy. In it, Moses tells the Israelites that only 40 years after their birth as a people have they attained “a heart to know, eyes to see and ears to hear.”

Until next week, Shabbat Shalom, my friends.
