Helping Jews in Need, Strengthening Jewish Life & Identity
The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix strengthens and sustains Jewish life and identity while meeting critical needs in Greater Phoenix, in Israel and around the world. We serve the community as a resource by maximizing the impact of the dollars raised and by supporting organizations that make a difference every day. We enable change, promote innovation and build community.
We believe we have a responsibility to one another and to all mankind. We believe in our power to make a difference. And we believe that together we can make our world a better place.
Caring for Jews in Need
Wherever Jews are hungry, need medicine, job training, a blanket or a roof over their heads… we are there. Through our local and overseas partners (Jewish Agency For Israel and The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) we help Jews in need in Greater Phoenix, in Israel, the former Soviet Union and around the world.
Enriching Senior Lives
We believe that our community’s seniors should be able to age in place with Jewish dignity. Our top three priorities to this end are:
- Connecting seniors to needed resources
- Safe, affordable transportation
- Social engagement opportunities
The Federation funds the Senior Concierge Program administered through Jewish Family & Children’s Service. The concierge builds and maintains a database of community resources and connects seniors to needed services.
The Federation Seniors Rides Program provides safe, reliable and affordable transportation to seniors, giving them the freedom to remain independent when they can no longer drive.
The Federation funds a variety of senior-related social activities and learning opportunities through our community’s many service organizations and Jewish community centers.
Engaging the Next Generation
A strong, vibrant Jewish community is dependent upon its leaders. Engaging the next generation in the community is essential to ensuring our Jewish future. To this end, we fund programs and services that encourage Jewish young adults to become involved in their community and to give Jewishly. Funded programs include Moishe House Phoenix, Jewish genetics screening and young adult giving circles.
A community is built by people who care for one another and who believe in common good. The Federation is a conduit to build community and collaboration. We provide opportunities for people to gather, celebrate, learn and rally together. Each individual, each organization is a thread that strengthens the rich tapestry of Jewish life and community.
The Federation maximizes the impact of the dollars raised through its annual campaign to fund organizations and programs that make a difference in Jewish lives every day. We work collaboratively with our funded partners to provide needed services, strengthen Jewish life and identity and build community.Learn more about community funding
